Up again after a prolonged recovery

A long haul since 20 August when we last updated. Bunker was overrun twice; they got into the server room this time, which was nearly catastrophic for our effort here. A couple of stray rounds took out the primary server, and there was a fire, which pretty much destroyed the back-up array. Fortunately, we had just replaced the old back-up array with new equipment, and we had not yet re-purposed the old one, which was stored off-site in one of our warehouse caches. At any rate, it took us a while to get back up on our feet (we lost a couple of generators too), here’s what’s gone in the rest of the world in the interim:

In the U.S. there were 3658 hits in 39 states and the District of Columbia. New Jersey, Nevada, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Utah all had over 100 hits each. New York and Wisconsin were a lot busier, with over 200 hits each. Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont had over 300 hits each, and Maryland had 466. The heavy hitter this time around was Connecticut, which suffered 592. Clearly New England is to be avoided.

Overseas. we had hits in 26 countries, Germany and Austria having over 200 hits apiece, and Canada had 321, spread pretty evenly across the country. Portugal suffered 621 hits, the most for this reporting period, and in a much smaller territory. One might well think twice about going there too. Croatia had its first reports, and a number of eastern European countries were up over 50 hits each. There were reports on 49 different ZTBs during this period.

Stay safe out there, and watch out for the Halloweeners….they just may be real!

9 days, 1465 reports on 61 active ZTBs, where to start?

Guess we’ll just continue to break it down. We had the normal pattern of significant clustering and onsey-twosey reports, but on a more extreme scale this time. 317 reports in Europe, but 214 of them from just a few ZTBs devouring the crowd at the Mega event in Aveiro, Portugal. As we work westward, New Brunswick, Canada saw a huge surge in activity, with 67 reports from just one ZTB, and Connecticut continues to get hammered with 103 hits since our last report (maybe the launch of the Connecticut Star?). But the real news was 5110 miles west of Aveiro in Seattle, Washington at the last Block Party. Same day, two mega events, five thousand miles apart, and mayhem all around. There were 23 active ZTBs in Washington and Oregon over the last nine days, a whopping total of 769 reports, Groundspeak HQ was hit multiple times, and we already know they are spreading, as one has made it as far as London, England, and several others have moved to California, back east to New England, and to Idaho. Last Block Party indeed; we can only hope the victims rest in peace, and don’t return as zombies themselves.

Well it used to be quiet here…

A couple of weeks ago we reported that it was eerily quiet in Maryland. That period has ended and a major surge has occurred on the eastern shore of this small state, perhaps due to the influx of summer visitors at the beach. There were 1084 reports of activity from that region of the state alone, along with 27 reports from Delaware. Very heavy activity, and we are significantly overtaxed. There are rumors they may blow the bay bridge – we just don’t know. Meanwhile, there were 15 other states that reported activity as well, with New York, Connecticut and Wisconsin reporting the most activity. Overseas England and Scotland were hard hit, and Canada saw some significant activity as well. Listen up folks. It doesn’t matter whether you cache in Uppsala, Sweden or New South Wales, Australia, Ohio or Switzerland, California or the Czech Republic. Just about wherever you are there is a chance you may encounter a zombie travel bug nowadays, so keep your wits about you. And think hard before you attempt to travel to a mega event – you may not make it there un-infected, and chances are there will be a horde waiting when you arrive. We’ve had recent sightings in Washington, and the upcoming Block Party in Seattle may well be the next site of major ZTB devastation. Stay safe!

A fairly quiet week

As you know from previous reports, all U.S states, as well as the District of Columbia have been affected. This now extends to the U. S. Territory of Puerto Rico, for which we received the first reports this week. All in all there were reports on 43 ZTBs from 12 states, 13 countries, for a total of 301 hits. Connecticut continues too experience heavy activity, along with New York, Maryland and Wisconsin. Overseas, Belgium and Germany were the heavy hitters this week. Keep safe out there!

Eerily quiet in Maryland…

But not so much in other places. In the last week, we had reports on sightings of 43 ZTBs in 9 countries, 12 states, with a total 0f 908 reports. While it was quiet in Maryland with only 10 reports, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New York were all heavy hitters, Massachusetts saw 350 hits alone. Overseas we saw the most activity in Northern Scotland, with 82 reports there. Hard to know what affects these creatures, and why they go where they go, we sure can’t make any sense of it. Meanwhile, we’ve taken advantage of the lull in activity near ZTB HQ to fortify the bunker, lay in extra supplies, and lay low. We suggest you do the same.

A very busy reporting period

Here’s the report for the last 16 days:

We received reports on 60 ZTBs active in 21 countries and 23 of the states here in the U.S.A. There were a total of 1426 individual reports, 221 overseas and 1206 in the U.S. Heavy activity (greater than 40 reports) overseas in Australia, Germany and Portugal. Here in the states, New Hampshire, West Virginia, Washington, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, New Jersey and New York as well, as Maryland were the states most seriously affected. We are hoping for a break as the weather really starts to heat up, but suspect we won’t get one. Good luck out there….

New areas infected!

South Dakota, the only state in the United States which had not previously reported any infections, has now reported ZTB activity. A sad day. Additionally, both Andorra and Lichtenstein overseas have now reported infections. In the last twenty days, we have had reports on a total,of 40 ZTBs in 11 countries and 14 states here in the U.S. with a total of 341 reports. Three new ZTBs were sighted in Germany, and there was a significant uptick in activity in the Las Vegas, Nevada area, as well as in Delaware. Summer always seems to be a bit more active, keep your wits about you!

Summer mayhem continues

In the week since we last updated, there have been 341 reports on 30 ZTBs in 8 countries and 12 states in the United States. Here in the states, Maryland and Connecticut had high activity, and Rhode Island got waxed. Overseas, Canada and Australia were the heavy hitters this go-round. Next report will likely be delayed, as the compound here is crumbling and we will have to make a major push to upgrade ZTB Tracking HQ. Stay safe!

Geowoodstock XIII takes its toll

Since our last update, we have received reports on 56 ZTBs, in 14 countries and 26 states here in America, as well as the District of Columbia. Austria was the most active hotspot overseas with 44 hits, followed by England with 22. The infection spread rapidly in the Hagerstown/Boonesboro/Frederick area of Maryland as we expected it would, with the large influx of Geoowoodstock attendees. We had 819 hits in Maryland, and the plague has spread outward with major new outbreaks in the mid-Atlandtic states and New England. New York had 75 hits, New jersey 41, Connecticut 35, Vermont 120, and Maine, just south of Lewiston, had 380 hits in the week following the mega event. As summer continues, we only expect matters to get worse, many at Geowoodstock expressed concerns about the final Block Party being held in Seattle later in the summer, wondering just how final it might end up. Keep quiet, and keep alert!
